Meeting face-2-face again feels great!
It was wonderful to be able to meet colleagues in the care sector face-to-face again after so many virtual discussions. Covid-safe protocols were very much at the forefront of people’s minds, with face masks and hand gels in abundance as exhibition giveaways.
As you would expect our focus was on Care Technology, and we attended several of the speaking sessions during the day. The session on ‘Personalisation through Better Insight’ gave some very interesting figures on the benefits of personalised care plans, quoting reductions of 38% on emergency admissions and 18% on GP visits in facilities where these were used. During the session it was also made clear that personalisation can change and that, as we all know, turning data into true insights is not easy.
Technology enables us to look at things more quickly, and to supply the right information to staff which will enable them to make decisions.
We also attended the session on ‘Digitising Adult Social Care’ by NHS-X, where the speakers outlined their work on the Digital Social Care Records Assured Supplier list, and the process which is gone through for technology suppliers either on or hoping to join this list. The aim is to introduce care technology which reduces demand both on the NHS and on social care services, by improving quality, safety and productivity.
Emma Harris from NHS X said that the next steps were to award the Integrated Care System funds in early November, and to begin developing a Digital Playbook in January which will answer providers’ questions about implementation.
It was great to see so many colleagues and peers applying the latest technology to deliver a positive impact on various aspects of social care delivery. There is a clear movement in ensuring technology is at the forefront of social care delivery and PredicAire is excited to be at the centre of this ambition.
